Subrogation

Our subrogation practice is one of the most successful in the state of New Jersey, the five boroughs of NYC and lower NY state. This department, headed by team leader, Stacy Maza, Esq., and the firm’s senior counsel, Jan Meyer, Esq., has successfully represented large, A-rated insurers, self-insured entities and third party vendors. We have recovered millions of dollars for our clients in the areas of product liability, fire damage, property, auto (PIP/no-fault), health and workers’ compensation casualty and serious personal injury.

We handle all types of subrogation cases. Subrogation is generally considered a specialty within insurance law because it most often applies in situations in which an insurer pays a claimant and then seeks reimbursement from the third-party who caused the claimant’s loss. However, this same principle can apply to other areas of law, such as surety contracts.

Subrogation is a highly specialized field and one in which our firm has a particularly impressive record of success in terms of both the amount recovered for our clients and the number of cases we have brought to a successful conclusion. Our sophisticated, state of the art technology supports all the firm’s practice areas, but we find it adds its greatest value to our subrogation practice because of the many complexities and intricacies of these cases.

As always, we first seek to settle these matters through negotiation because we believe that is the best use of our clients’ time and money. However, we forcefully pursue our clients’ interests through trial if we cannot achieve reasonable recoveries through negotiations.
